Set up your AI call center by chatting with Claude
Paste one link into Claude or ChatGPT, sign in, and describe your business in your own words. Your assistant builds the phone agent, writes its call script, drafts its answers and tests it. You read what it did and say what to change.
Your connector link (the same for everyone)
Nothing to install and no key to copy. Your dashboard shows the same link under Settings → Integrations.
Free to build and test. Your assistant needs a Daber AI workspace to build in, so create one first.
The short answer
How do I set up an AI phone agent by chatting with Claude?
Add Daber AI as a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT by pasting one link, https://api.phone.daber.ai/v1/mcp, then sign in to your Daber AI account and approve the connection. From then on you describe your business in the chat, and the assistant creates the phone agent, turns your call script into a call flow, drafts answers from your documents for you to approve, and tests the agent. Attaching the phone number stays in the dashboard. Building and testing are free; going live on a real number costs $3 for 14 days, then $49 a month.
Three steps
No settings screens to learn. If you can paste a link, you can do this.
- 1
Connect: paste the link
In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Customize → Connectors (Settings → Connectors in older versions), click +, then Add custom connector. Paste the link and leave every other field empty: no client ID, no secret. In ChatGPT, add the same link under Settings → Connectors; custom connectors may need to be turned on for your plan.
- 2
Sign in and approve
Click Connect. A Daber AI page opens: sign in the way you normally do, pick your business, check what the assistant is asking to do, and click Approve. Only the workspace owner or an admin can approve. Back in the chat, switch the connector on from the tools menu.
- 3
Describe your business
Say what you do, which calls it should answer, what it must never say, and who should take over when a caller asks for a person. If you have a call script, a price list or an FAQ document, paste it in: your wording is kept.
Using Claude Code or Cursor? The same link works there too. Read the step-by-step guide
What your assistant does for you
It works through the same tools as the dashboard, so everything it builds is in your dashboard too.
Builds your agent
Creates the phone agent and writes its instructions, greeting and tone from the way you describe your business.
Turns your call script into a call flow
Paste the script you already use. It becomes a step-by-step call flow linked to the agent, and you can keep the greeting and closing word for word.
Drafts answers from your documents
Give it your price list, policies or FAQ sheet. It pulls out questions and answers and saves them as drafts for you to review.
Connects your tools and lists
Sets up connectors such as your calendar or CRM, and turns a spreadsheet of products, prices or staff into a table the agent can search during a call.
Tests it before anyone calls
Runs every route of your call flow with a simulated caller and reports what passes, chats with the agent to check its answers, and shows you the transcripts.
Calls your phone so you can hear it
Say “call me and pretend to be a new customer” and your phone rings. This needs an outgoing phone line on your workspace; until then, test it from your browser in the dashboard.
Reviews real calls and drafts fixes
Reads your conversations, finds where the agent went wrong and drafts a fix to its instructions. It can replay the call with the fix, so you see the old answer next to the new one before anything changes.
Tells you what's next
Stop halfway and come back next week, even in a new chat. Ask “What's my next step?” and it checks your workspace and tells you where you are and what is waiting on you.
Automated voice test calls, where a simulated caller speaks out loud with your agent, are switched on per workspace by Daber AI. Ask us if you'd like them. Contact
What you still do yourself
A few steps stay with a person on purpose: they decide what your callers hear and what you pay.
Approve the answers
Answers the assistant adds stay drafts, and the agent doesn't use them until they're approved. Read them, then approve them under Knowledge in the dashboard, or tell the assistant to approve the ones you've read.
Attach the phone number
Getting a number and connecting it to the agent happens in the dashboard. The assistant can't put your agent on a phone line by itself: that is the step that puts it in front of your customers.
Pay $3 when you go live
Building and testing cost nothing. When you put the agent on a real line, you pay $3 for 14 days, then $49/mo unless you cancel.
Say what sounds wrong
Listen to it and tell the assistant what to change in plain words: “shorter answers”, “always ask for a callback number”. Three or four rounds is normal.

What it looks like
You
I run a dental clinic with two dentists. Answer the phone when we're busy or closed, take appointment requests, and give our hours and prices — they're in the attached price list. Never give medical advice. If someone is in pain or asks for a person, transfer them to the front desk at +1 …
Assistant
Done. I created the agent “Clinic front desk” with this greeting: “Thanks for calling the clinic, how can I help you today?” From your price list I drafted answers about prices and opening hours. They stay drafts until you approve them. Want to read them now?
You
Yes, they're right, approve them. And it sounds a bit formal — make it shorter and warmer.
Assistant
Approved, and the instructions are rewritten: warmer, two sentences at most per answer. I tested it again as a caller asking about a cleaning, and it gave the price from your list. Next step: attach a phone number to the agent in the dashboard.
Free to build. $3 to go live.
Building with your assistant and testing in your browser are free. When you put the agent on a real phone line: $3 for 14 days with a real number and 30 call minutes, then Starter at $49/mo. Cancel anytime.
Questions
Do I need to know how to code to set up Daber AI with Claude?
No. You paste one link into your assistant's settings and sign in; after that you describe your business in plain words. You don't need to know what MCP is: it's the open standard that lets your assistant use Daber AI's tools.
Which AI assistants can set up my AI phone agent?
Claude on the web and desktop, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor, plus any other assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server. On claude.ai, custom connectors are available on every plan, and the free plan allows one. In ChatGPT, custom connectors may need to be enabled on your plan. Cursor connects with an API key from your dashboard.
Is it safe? What can the assistant access?
Only your one workspace, and only what you approved. When you connect, the Daber AI sign-in page shows the permissions the assistant is asking for, and you can narrow them before you approve. The connection appears in Settings → Integrations as its own key, named after the assistant; revoke it and every connected assistant loses access at once. Answers stay drafts until a person approves them, every change to an agent or call flow is saved as a version you can roll back in one click, and the assistant can't connect a phone line or add users.
How much does it cost to set up an AI call center with Claude?
Nothing extra on Daber AI: building and testing are free, and the connector is included on every plan. When you put the agent on a real phone line you pay $3 for 14 days, then $49/mo unless you cancel. Test calls to a real phone use call minutes like any other call. Your Claude or ChatGPT subscription is separate and doesn't change.
Can I edit things afterwards in the dashboard?
Yes. Everything the assistant builds (the agent, its instructions, the call flow and the answers) is in your dashboard and can be edited there. Version history rolls back any change to an agent or call flow in one click. You can switch between chatting and clicking whenever you like.
Do I need a Daber AI account first?
Yes. The connection is approved by signing in, so the workspace has to exist first. Creating one is free, and you need to be its owner or an admin to approve the connection.
Copy the link, then just talk
Paste it into Claude or ChatGPT, sign in and describe your business.
