    Outbound follow-up call script

For calling back people who already asked about you: a quote you sent, a form they filled in, a visit that ended without a booking.

    The short answer

What is a good outbound follow-up call script?

A good follow-up call opens with who you are and a reason the person will recognize: "Hi [Customer name], it's [Your name] from [Business name]. You asked us about [service] last week, and I wanted to follow up." Then ask one open question about where they stand, answer their concern, and suggest one clear next step: a visit, a booking or a call on a set day. If it's not a good time, ask when is. Keep the call to a few minutes.

    The full script

Following up on a quote, ending in a booking. Replace everything in square brackets.

You: Hi, is this [Customer name]?

    Customer: Speaking.

You: Hi [Customer name], this is [Your name] from [Business name]. You [asked about / got a quote for] [service] on [day], and I'm calling to follow up. Do you have two minutes?

    Customer: Sure.

You: Thanks. Did you get a chance to look at [the quote / the details we sent]?

Customer: [Yes, I'm still thinking / Not yet].

You: Is there anything holding you back, or anything I can clear up?

    Customer: [Question or concern].

You: [Answer it in one or two sentences.]

You: Would it help to [book [service] / have [Name] come by and take a look]? I have [day] at [time] or [day] at [time].

    Customer: [Day] works.

You: Great, you're booked for [day] at [time]. I'll text you the details. Thanks, [Customer name].

    Short version

You: Hi [Customer name], it's [Your name] from [Business name], following up on your [quote / inquiry] about [service]. Any questions I can answer?

    Customer: [Answer].

You: Would you like to go ahead and set a date? I have [day] or [day].

If it's not a good time

    Customer: I'm busy right now.

You: No problem. When's a better time, later today or tomorrow?

    Customer: [Time].

You: I'll call you [time]. Thanks.

If the price is the problem

Customer: It's more than I expected.

You: I understand. Can I ask what you're comparing it to?

    Customer: [Answer].

You: That makes sense. Our price includes [what's included]. [If you have one: We also have [a smaller option / a payment plan] at [price].] Would that help?

If they're not interested or annoyed

Customer: I'm not interested. Please stop calling.

You: Understood, sorry to bother you. I'll take you off our call list. Have a good day.

(Then remove them from the list right after the call.)

    Voicemail

You: Hi [Customer name], it's [Your name] from [Business name], following up on [the quote for [service]]. If you have questions or want to set a date, call me at [phone number]. I'll also send you a quick text. Thanks!

    Tips for follow-up calls

A follow-up works when the person remembers you and the call makes their decision easier. It fails when it sounds like pressure.

    • Call people who reached out to you first. A follow-up is welcome; a cold call often isn't.
    • Say why you're calling in the first sentence.
    • Ask one question, then listen.
    • Suggest one next step, with a specific day and time.
    • Two or three attempts over about a week is usually enough. Then send a last message and stop.
    • Check the calling rules that apply where you call (consent, calling hours, do-not-call lists), and honor every request to stop.

    How to adapt this script

    1. 1Pick the trigger: a quote sent, a form filled in, a visit without a booking.
    2. 2Write down the two or three concerns customers raise most, with a short, honest answer to each.
    3. 3Decide the next step you'll offer (a visit, a booking, a call) and the times you can offer.
    4. 4Set how many attempts you make, and when you stop.
    5. 5For many calls a week, a Daber AI agent can run them as an outbound campaign from this script, and each call is saved as a recording, a transcript and a summary.

    Questions

When should you make a follow-up call after a quote?

Within a day or two, while the quote is still fresh. If you don't reach them, try again a few days later at a different time of day, and leave a short voicemail and a text.

How many times should you follow up?

Two or three attempts over about a week is reasonable for most businesses. After that, send one last message saying you'll close the file unless they reply, and stop calling.

Are there rules for outbound business calls?

Yes, and they vary by country and by the kind of call. They can cover consent, calling hours and do-not-call lists. Check the rules that apply where you call, and always honor a request to stop.

Can an AI agent make outbound follow-up calls?

Yes. Daber AI runs outbound calls and campaigns. Give it the list and a script like this one, and the agent makes each call, answers questions from your knowledge base, books a time when a calendar is connected, and sends a text with the details.
