How to forward calls on AT&T

Send your AT&T calls to your AI receptionist and keep the number your customers already know. Every code below comes from AT&T's own support pages.

    The short answer

How do I forward calls on AT&T?

On an AT&T wireless phone, dial AT&T's forward-all code from the phone itself, followed by the 10-digit number you're forwarding to and the pound key, then wait at least 3 seconds for the confirmation tone. A separate code turns it off. AT&T doesn't publish codes for forwarding only unanswered or busy calls on wireless lines, so use your phone's call-forwarding settings or ask AT&T. AT&T Phone, the digital home and business line, has official codes for all calls, unanswered calls and busy calls.

    AT&T wireless: forward all calls

These are the only forwarding codes AT&T publishes for wireless lines. Dial them from the AT&T phone itself: AT&T says call forwarding can't be managed online.

    Forward all calls

Enter the 10-digit number, area code included. Wait at least 3 seconds for the confirmation tone before you hang up.

    Stop forwarding

Forwarding only the calls you miss on an AT&T mobile

Forward-all sends every call to your AI agent, and your phone doesn't ring. AT&T doesn't publish dial codes for forwarding only unanswered, busy or unreachable calls on wireless lines. Codes found on forums aren't confirmed by AT&T, so we don't list them. What you can do instead:

    • Android: open the Phone app, tap the menu, then Settings > Calling accounts > your SIM > Call forwarding. AT&T notes that, depending on your device, you may be able to route calls differently based on whether your line is busy or not. If your phone offers separate options, such as when busy or when unanswered, enter your Daber AI number there.
    • iPhone: Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Forwarding turns on forward-all only.
    • Otherwise, ask AT&T support whether conditional forwarding is available on your line and device.

AT&T Phone and AT&T Phone for Business (digital landline)

AT&T Phone, AT&T Phone - Advanced and AT&T Phone for Business share these codes. Press the code, enter the forwarding number, then press the pound key.

Forward unanswered calls (No Answer Call Forwarding)

Your phone rings first. AT&T doesn't state how many rings before the call forwards.

Recommended setup: send only missed calls to your AI agent

For AT&T Phone and AT&T Phone for Business. Your phone rings as usual, and the calls you don't pick up go to the agent.

    1. 1Get your Daber AI number. Your agent gets a US number right away; use it as the forwarding target.
    2. 2From the AT&T line, dial the No Answer Call Forwarding code above with your Daber AI number, then press the pound key.
    3. 3Dial the Busy Call Forwarding code the same way, so callers who reach you while you're on another call also go to the agent.
    4. 4On AT&T Phone for Business you can set the forwarding numbers in your online AT&T business account instead. If they're set there, you don't need to enter them by phone.
    5. 5Test it, as described below.

    Test it

Call your business number from another phone and let it ring without answering. With no-answer forwarding, your phone rings first and then the AI agent picks up; with forward-all, the agent answers straight away. Every call is saved in Daber AI as a recording, a transcript and a summary. If the caller hears a busy signal, check the forwarding number: AT&T says callers get one when that number is busy.

    Turn it off

Dial the matching off code from the tables above, from the same line. On AT&T Phone for Business, voicemail itself uses No Answer and Busy Call Forwarding: if calls don't reach voicemail afterwards, check in your online account that both are set to Forward to Voice Mail.

Before you forward an AT&T line: forwarding overrides your wireless voicemail. Calls can't be forwarded to an international number, so use your agent's US number. Wireless forwarding can only be changed from the phone itself, not online. Forwarded calls are billed for the length of the call, and long-distance or roaming charges may apply.
The landline codes above are for AT&T Phone and AT&T Phone for Business. A traditional (copper) AT&T line has its own feature list; see AT&T's page in the sources below.

    Questions

Does call forwarding cost extra on AT&T?

AT&T says forwarded calls are billed for the length of the call, and they may add long-distance or roaming charges, for example when you forward to a number outside your home calling area. On some AT&T wireless plans, forwarded minutes aren't counted against your plan minutes. Check your plan, or ask AT&T, for what applies to your line.

Can I forward only the calls I miss on AT&T?

On AT&T Phone and AT&T Phone for Business, yes: No Answer Call Forwarding and Busy Call Forwarding have their own codes. On AT&T wireless, AT&T doesn't publish codes for it. Some phones offer busy or unanswered options in their call-forwarding settings; otherwise ask AT&T support.

What happens to my AT&T voicemail when I forward calls?

Call forwarding overrides your wireless voicemail, so forwarded calls go to the AI agent instead. The agent can answer questions, book appointments or take a message.
