What the agent can do with your Twilio account

You don't need Twilio to use Daber AI: every agent can get its own number, and the built-in tools send SMS and email. Connecting Twilio is for businesses that already have numbers, messaging registrations or billing there and want the agent to use them.

• Answer calls on your Twilio numbers, so callers keep dialing the number they know.
• Send an SMS from your Twilio number during or after a call: a confirmation, an address, a link.
• Send a WhatsApp message from your Twilio WhatsApp sender.
• Place calls through your account, for callbacks and outbound campaigns.

Built-in number or your Twilio account?

What you need to connect Twilio

An upgraded Twilio account. Twilio's trial accounts can only send messages and make calls to verified phone numbers, so callers and customers can't be reached from a trial.

1. 1Check your Twilio account is upgraded and holds the numbers you want the agent to use. Twilio authenticates API access with your Account SID and Auth Token.
2. 2For texts to US recipients from a local number, complete A2P 10DLC registration in Twilio. Twilio says anyone sending SMS from a 10DLC number to the US must register.
3. 3For WhatsApp, register a WhatsApp sender in Twilio. That needs administrator access to a Meta Business Portfolio and, for production, Meta business verification.
4. 4In Daber AI, connect your Twilio account, test the connection, and choose the number the agent answers on.
5. 5Turn the messaging actions on for the agent and write in its instructions when to send what. Then make a test call.

An example call

A customer calls an auto repair shop on the shop's Twilio number to book an oil change. The agent books Thursday at 8 and asks how they'd like the confirmation. The caller says text is fine, so the agent sends an SMS from the same number with the date, time and the shop's address. When the car is ready on Thursday, the shop's team sends the pickup message themselves; the agent handled the part that used to mean a missed call and a voicemail.

Where it stops

Twilio's rules and Meta's rules apply to your account, not to Daber AI's. Plan around them:

• Unregistered US texting from a local number won't meet Twilio's A2P 10DLC requirement. Register before you go live.
• A WhatsApp message to someone who hasn't messaged you in the last 24 hours must use a template WhatsApp has approved. After a phone call, that's usually the case, so prepare templates first.
• The agent sends messages only when its instructions say when to. A caller asking for a text isn't enough on its own.
• Twilio usage on your account is billed by Twilio, under your Twilio pricing.
